Abacus Management FZE is a young company established by its Owner, Capt. Bill Chalmers, in 2017.

The Abacus name was first used in 1992 when Abacus Marine and Supply came into being and later Abacus Marine Limited to undertake the management for private Owners of the quaintly named mini supply vessel Eilean Dubh E, Black Island in Gaelic.

Although it is no longer necessary to try to get to the top of directory lists such as the Yellow Pages, the Abacus name still had a familiar ring was again used.

After a lifetime in the shipping, marine, port and logistics industries and leaving behind the stewardship of Iraq operations, Bill decided to set up Abacus Management FZE, to continue with interesting experiences in various fields of his experience

Sea-going years saw service on VLCCs, LPG carriers, bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, con-bulkers, geared and fully cellular container vessels, cadet training vessel and mini-supply vessels.

Shore based experience encompassed marine surveying, tramp and liner shipping agency, sea, road and airfreight forwarding and logistics, mobile bagging supervision, tender preparation, on-site and in-field logistics management in the oil industry, ship management of car carriers and mini supply vessel, port management in container terminals and inland logistics centres and project management.

Abacus has a wide contact range which includes many individuals and companies which complement the services which Abacus can provide and offer the client a one-stop shop environment to suit his requirements.

Although based in the Middle East, Abacus personnel are able to travel anywhere worldwide to match the requirements of the project.
